Varnish Removal Flushing in Gas Turbine in Argentina

Lubritech Argentina had just completed an important job in a Power Plant in Vaca Muerta, Neuquén, Argentina. We performed a Varnish Removal Flushing Service in a Gas Turbine, model LMS-100, with more than 7,000 Gallons, ISO VG 32 Turbine Oil, 5 years and MPC close to 30.

 

Our Project lead was Andrés Yamín, and our Flushing Technician was Josué Buozi. They had local manpower support. When the Turnaround started, we added 350 Gallons of surface cleaner product using our Thermojet Oil Purifier. We started circulation, heating the oil, and MPC grew up to 39, which indicates that the product is getting dissolved the varnish from the system.

 

After 24 hours of circulation, we drained the oil, and performed tank cleaning. The tanks was impregned with an orange lay. After the cleaning, we added flushing oil, just to remove any presence of product (according to ASTM D-6439), and MPC started in 30 and finished in 13.

 

Finally, we added the operation new oil, and kept Thermojet Oil Purifier with a High Filtration Skid to improve oil characteristic. MPC was 6, and ISO Code improved from 21/19/17 down to 15/14/11.

Lunch and Learn in Chemical Industry in Nordeast Brazil

Our Company, Lubritech do Brasil, performed a lunch and learn event in October in a Chemical Plant in Brasil.

 

We introduced our technology and services focused on inccreasing Reliability and Availability of rotating equipment. We included the following topics:

 

  • High Velocity Oil Flushing.
  • Varnish Removal Flushing
  • Thermojet Oil Purifier.
  • ISOPur Oil Purifier. Balanced Charge Agglomeration.
  • Oil Mist Lubrication System for improving MTBF in centrifugal pumps.

High Velocity Oil Flushing in Ethylene Plant in Argentina

Lubritech Argentina has just performed a big flushing service during a turnaround in an Ethylene Plant in Argentina. We would like to highlight that all Sicelub Lubritech Group has a big background on this kind of rotating equipment, we have performed similar services in Spain, Brazil and Argentina.

 

We were awarded after an open tender process, where we were the Company that was able to propose the best schedule for flushing service, at a lower cost, and with the best safety conditions.

 

We performed High Velocity Oil Flushing to all lubricating and hydraulic systems of the rotating equipment.

 

The flushing job was scheduled by our customer in 60 days, but we were able to complete the job in 45 days. We had high flow pumps (500 GPM), we applied pneumatic vibration and heated the oil up to 60 °C.

 

Our team was formed by 7 field technicians, 1 EHS and 1 Project Leader (Martín Videla). We worked in two shifts, to reach the lower time for performing the service.
