On August 14, a Master Class on Rotating Equipment Maintenance was held, focused on sharing experiences and best practices applicable during scheduled shutdowns of process plants.

The session addressed critical aspects aimed at increasing asset reliability and availability, with particular emphasis on best practices for performing High Velocity Flushing in turbocompressors as part of maintenance activities.

Proper control of lubrication system cleanliness during a shutdown is essential to prevent contamination, reduce the risk of premature failures in bearings and other critical components, and ensure suitable conditions for a reliable start-up.

The application of appropriate Flushing, filtration, and cleanliness control methodologies, supported by sound engineering criteria and proper verification of the cleanliness levels achieved, helps reduce start-up risks and directly contributes to greater reliability, availability, and service life of rotating equipment.

These experiences and best practices aim to strengthen maintenance management and ensure that every plant shutdown becomes an opportunity to eliminate sources of contamination, control risks, and return assets to operation in optimal conditions.
